Duran Duran and New Order to Headline London 2012 Olympic Games Ceremonies

British New Wave giants, and this year’s Exit festival headliners, Duran Duran, will perform at the London 2012 Olympic Games opening ceremony, on July 27. Another Exit headliner, the electro-pop machine New Order, will perform at the closing ceremony, on August 12!

The tickets start sales in a few minutes – 9am GMT, on this link. You can get them at the price of ₤60 (reservation fee not included), and it is believed that the tickets will sell out in only a few minutes.

The opening ceremony will feature all four parts of the United Kingdom; Duran Duran will represent England, Snow Patrol will represent Northern Ireland; Wales will be represented by Stereophonics, while Scotland will feature Paolo Nutini.

Apart from New Order, the closing ceremony is reserved for Blur, The Specials, and special guests, who will soon be announced.

The tickets for the closing ceremony have already been sold out.

Those who are present at the ceremonies at Hyde Park can follow all the official Olympic Games ceremonies on big screens besides the opening and the closing. Hyde Park and Victoria Park will be the gathering places during the Olympics, where important events will be broadcast live on huge screens!
