Another ex-YU giant is visiting and shaking the fortress walls this year. Annathema is a band created simultaneously with the world’s leading Thrash Metal pioneers in 1982, who marked the development and the “golden” period of Metal music in Yugoslavia at the end of the 80s with numerous concerts in Serbia as well as other countries. With smaller hiatuses, the band is still active, and the band’s members also play in other domestic bands in the genre; the most prominent being Stavra, the drummer whose drumsticks reached far away. At the decline of the 90s, the band gains a prestigious status on the international level. Their Empire of Noise album is one of the most expensive and rare Metal vinyls of all time. The band got another recognition this year, in China, where all three of their studio albums were re-issued for the Asian market as special die-hard editions.
