Dirty Rotten Imbeciles, American crossover thrash band formed in Houston, Texas in 1982, rocks in the long-lasting line-up: with the vocalist Kurt Brecht, Spike Cassidy on guitars, Rob Rampy on drums and Harald Oimoen on the bass. D.R.I. never attained mainstream status and audience belonging to the stream, but the punk rock root integration into their music was a catalyst for their followers, such as Suicidal Tendencies, Corrosion of Conformity and S.O.D. Altogether, they are considered pioneers of a thing which will later be called crossover thrash, named after D.R.I's 1987 album, Crossover. After seven studio albums, in 2004, the band released their first demo tapes on the Internet, collectively named Against Me, after a decade of silence. Following the good old tradition of releasing an album every ten years, they are currently working on a new release.
