A former trio, Thieves Like Us, decisively expanded their entourage, by including three ladies, thus contributing to a small, but an important change in the sound and the energy of the band. Anna, Bjorn, Dani, Martine and Andy have managed to combine the Post-punk sound with New Wave, Italo Disco, Synth Pop, resulting in a product that is so electro-poppish, you would want to dance carelessly at their performances!
The first album, named "Berlin, Alex" was released in 2007, independently, with a big amount of enthusiasm. Two years of hard work and 3 EPs on vinyl, with a successfully launched sound on an unsteady Berlin music scene can very much be a good basis for this kind of action.
A year after the band’s debut, they release "Play Music", the second album, still as a trio. Oriented towards melancholy of the new wave, and the 80s Disco music, they import the best of the era, and create a sound Joy Division would have if they paired up with Kraftwerk!
In 2010, the band move to France, and fall under the influence of the Paris scene. Their third album “Again and Again“, features a steady balance between fast-paced songs with a very colourful, dreamy overtones from the previous albums. Bitter lyrics of failed loves, drowning sorrow and finding a soulmate, make an impression on the listeners by giving them faith in a better tomorrow.
Just a few days ago, the band released a new album, named "Bleed Bleed Bleed", with refreshing new members of the gang. Noticeable changes have been introduced to the band’s sound, from silent and barely hearable female backing vocals, to faster and brighter song themes. It is a catchy, perfect sound for one summer afternoon and an unforgettable sunset.
