Guitar rebellion at exit with 47,000 voices echoing across the fortress!

After two glorious nights and over one thousand performers at the Fortress, EXIT was ready to welcome this year’s Saturday night fever! Last night the Main Stage was ruled by The Vaccines, justifying their status as the best British live band today! Guitars rolled out one hit after hit after hit: “If You Wanna”, “Post Break-Up Sex”, “Ghost Town” and many many others, which was greeted by the audience with overwhelming ovations and an encore leaving them gasping for more from the Island’s indie-rockers. Prime time was also reserved for our legendary band Disciplin A Kitchme, with the series of Koja’s well-known hits being completed with songs from their new album “Opet”. The night at main stage was set into a flying start by Novi Sad’s Killo Killo Banda, after which one of the most influential “world music” groups came on stage – Tinariwen, a band rebellious against the tyrannical government in Mali, who chose to face weapons with honest, raw guitar power. The bluesers from the desert sang their hearts out in the universal language of truth, since their authentic expression broke all barriers, linguistic, national, and tonight even the intercontinental ones. After rocknroll, the night at main stage continued in the X-Bass beat, headed by the dubstep-rock attraction Modstep, whose current album “London Road” was named among the best ones on the world’s bass scene! Quick, dynamic, steady bass beats were afterwards held till dawn by Ivy Lab, Rene LaVice and the Russian trio Teddy Killerz.

Guitars overflowed each and every stage, because last night the Fortress was smashed by the absolute icons of punk – Cock Sparrer!  Every punker in the world new that this gathering at the jam-packed Fusion Stage was a once in a lifetime opportunity, and the band from London made sure it was every fan sang word for word every step of the way! Right after them, the stage was wowed by yet another group straight from the streets of London Dub Pistols! The seven gunslingers returned in fabulous style with their new album, who ensured the spirit of dub echoed across that part of the Fortress. Not far from there, deep within the trenches of Explosive Stage the Fortress was shaken to its foundations with the metal greats Paradise Lost, but also Sear Bliss, Tibia and numerous others headbanging bands.

The biggest Saturday night party in Europe was held last night at mts Dance Arena, where with a barrage of pyrotechnical wonder and stage effects the audience jumped throughout the night with the super-popular Nicky Romero. The Dutch hit maker Oliver Heldens flew in urgently via private jet to more than successfully fill in for Robin Schulz whose performance was canceled due to his sudden sickness, canceling three other shows as well. Sickness struck the British producer Hot Since 82, whos slot was filled in by the local bad boy duo Kristijan Molnar and Marko Milosavljevic! The spectacular series of club parties at No Sleep Novi Sad Stage continued, so after Nitsa from Barcelona and Tresor from Berlin, Paris got its chance, with the most sought after club currently in Europe – Concrete! The expedition force to Exit was led by Tommy Four Seven, accompanied by the residents of the club Antigone, Francois X and Shlømo!

The panel discussion at “Magic of Dialogue” zone was realized in partnership with the daily journal “Danas” and SKCNS “Fabrika”, which last night featured a discussion on the topic “What’s on in the magical box?”, about the current situation in the provincial public service broadcasting network.
