German DJ and producer Boris Brejcha is so much more than a minimal techno artist – he is a pioneer. Starting out with releases in 2006, he soon made his persona memorable by wearing a Joker mask during sets, which has since become his trademark. With tracks like “Die Maschinen Sind Gestrandet”, “My Love” and “Lost Memory”, he combined his sound with a maximum of varieties which were unparalleled. Thanks to all of this, he was named the “exceptional Talent 2007” by Raveline Magazine.
Brejcha quickly became a staple in the world’s club scene, while his desire and ambition for new and experimental musical direction also grew. In his performances, he shows his audiences how exciting minimal techno can be. Thus, he created his own music genre in 2012 – “High-Tech Minimal”. The main characteristics are bass backing, percussions, crazy musical effects and unexpected turns in the composition.
In 2015, he started his own label called “Fckng Serious”, with the idea of spreading good music and serious parties around the globe. In 2017, “Fckng Serious” was the first electronic label to have its own European bus tour, during which they had 10 performances in just 12 days. At the beginning of 2016, Brejcha released his fifth album named “22”, considered now as some of his finest work. In the same year, he also created his own “Boris Brejcha Showcase” in which he combines the recognizable Joker mask, synced visuals and music.
By his own admission, among his 2018 highlights he listed performances at Tomorrowland, Awakenings, Time Warp and EXIT Festival, so it’s only fitting that he returns to the colossal Dance Arena at EXIT this July!
