He released his first track, \u201c<strong>Fuck Detroit<\/strong>, \u201c when he was only 18, sampling the legendary \u201c<strong>Put Your Hands Up for Detroit<\/strong>.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>He began performing under the pseudonym Afrojack in 2007 when he founded his <strong>Wall Recordings<\/strong> label. He rose to success the following year with electro-house tracks \u201c<strong>Math<\/strong>\u201d and \u201c<strong>Do My Dance<\/strong>,\u201d which became instant club hits in the Netherlands and all of Western Europe.<\/p>\n<p>However, as is the case with anything and anyone of actual value and quality, it took some time for him to make his mark on the global stage. He did this through the songs \u201c<strong>Pacha on Acid<\/strong>\u201c and \u201c<strong>Bangduck<\/strong>\u201cand collaborations with musicians such as <strong>David Guetta, Madonna, Beyonc\u00e9, and Pitbull<\/strong>. He made another career leap in 2011, winning a <strong>Grammy<\/strong> with David Guetta for a remix of Madonna\u2019s song \u201c<strong>Revolver<\/strong>.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>After the Grammy, it took him three years to release his debut album \u201c<strong>Forget the World<\/strong>.\u201c An impressive cast of singers appeared on this album \u2013 from <strong>Matthew Koma <\/strong>and<strong> Sting<\/strong> to <strong>Chris Brown<\/strong> and <strong>Snoop Dogg<\/strong>. He released a three-track EP entitled <strong>NLW<\/strong> in 2015, with a bass-focused house sound that stood out from his previous releases.<\/p>\n<p>The song \u201c2012\u201c,\u00a0 on which he collaborated with <strong>Ravitez<\/strong>, was released in 2018. Commercial EDM of the early 2010s served as his inspiration for this song. Within the same project, he released another single, \u201cStarted,&#8221; just two weeks later. D.O.D. and TIM-BER produced this track.<\/p>\n<p>Near the end of the summer of the same year, Afrojack released the EP \u201c<strong>Press Play\u201c with as many as 14 tracks<\/strong>. The song \u201c<strong>When You\u2019re Gone<\/strong>\u201c with <strong>Ester Dean<\/strong> on vocals stood out, receiving many positive reviews. By the way, Afrojack also participated in the Eurovision Song Contest last year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>We will get a chance to hear one of the most sought-after acts on the global EDM scene at this year\u2019s EXIT festival<\/strong>.
