In the year that marks their three-decade anniversary, the Californian uncompromising punk/hardcore band Total Chaos will perform for the first time at EXIT Festival! Numerous crowded concerts at the very beginning of their careers attracted the attention of managers and industry pros, so they saw themselves contacted by Bret Gurewitz, guitarist of Bad Religion and the owner of Epitaph Records.
As a result, their record « Pledge of Defiance » was released in 1994, and was seen as one of the most prominent records from Epitaph. A tour with Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Battali on of Saints followed. During the summer of 1995, Total Chaos came to Europe for the first time, and most of the tour dates were completely sold out! Especially notable was a performance in Hanover, which was banned by the police, but nevertheless, the band played in the park, as part of The Harvest folk-rock festival.
After three classic hardcore punk albums, they returned to a more ‘70s sound, thus releasing the « Anthems from the Alleyways » album, which was sold in over 150,000 copies! Their last, tenth album « World of Insanity » was published in 2015, while maxi single « Street Punx » saw the light of day in 2017. Whether you’re fonder of the hardcore sound or some other punk subgenre, the music and live performances of Total Chaos will surely be a sight (and sound) to behold.
