Het festival biedt jaarlijks ruimte aan meer dan 1000 artiesten<\/strong> die optreden op meer dan 40 stages en festival zones.<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”148040″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]EXIT Festival won zowel in 2013 als 2017 de titel ‘Best Major European Festival’<\/strong> bij de European Festival Awards<\/strong>. Dit wordt gezien als een van de meest prestigieuze festival awards ter wereld. Het festival won daarnaast ook de ‘Best Overseas Festival’<\/strong> award, uitgereikt door de UK Festival Awards<\/strong> in 2007. Ook mocht EXIT in 2016 de titel ‘Best Summer Music Festival in Europe’<\/strong> in ontvangst nemen van het travel portaal Europeaan Destinations, in samenwerking met de Europese Commissie.<\/p>\n

In de zomer van 2021 was EXIT het eerste grootschalige Europese festival dat doorging sinds het begin van de corona-pandemie<\/strong>, met meer dan 180.000 bezoekers in vier dagen tijd. Deze editie, die ook in de boeken ging als de twintigste verjaardag van EXIT, werd geprezen door vele internationale media, waaronder Billboard<\/strong> en Variety<\/strong>, als een historisch evenement.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Het festival is opgericht in 2000<\/strong> in het University Park als een studentenprotest<\/strong>, waarbij gestreden werd voor democratie en vrijheid in Servi\u00eb en de Balkan. Na de verkiezingen van Joegoslavi\u00eb in 2000 verhuisde EXIT in 2001 naar het Petrovaradin Fort, waar het sindsdien jaarlijks gehouden wordt.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”148048″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]EXIT heeft over de jaren genoten van veel internationale media-aandacht. Het werd onder andere genoemd in artikelen zoals CNN’s ‘World’s Top 5 Festivals’<\/strong>, ‘World’s Best Festival’<\/strong> van The Guardian<\/strong> en The Sun<\/strong> schreef ‘One of Europe’s most popular music events’<\/strong>. Andere publicaties:\u00a0Euronews, New York Times, BBC <\/strong>(‘Top 3 Music Festivals’), Forbes <\/strong>(‘Thanks to EXIT, Serbia is a festival hot spot worth your attention’), The Times <\/strong>(‘Best European Festival’) en MTV<\/strong> (‘World’s Best Festival’). Huffington Post, Conde Nast Traveller, Daily Mail, The Independent, Lonely Planet<\/strong> en vele anderen waren in het verleden ook lovend over EXIT.<\/p>\n

Het EXIT team organiseert zeven evenementen op vijf verschillende locaties in vier landen in Zuidoost-Europa: EXIT Festival<\/strong> (Novi Sad, Servi\u00eb) in juli, Sea Dance Festival<\/strong> (Budva, Montenegro) in augustus, Sea Star Festival<\/strong> (Umag, Kroati\u00eb) in mei, No Sleep Festival<\/strong> (Belgrado, Servi\u00eb) in november, Revolution Festival<\/strong> (Timi\u0219oara, Roemeni\u00eb) in augustus, Ada Divine Awakening<\/strong> (Ada Bojana, Montenegro) in september en Sunland<\/strong> (Perla Beach, Bulgarije) in juli.<\/p>\n
