After coming within a hair’s breadth of winning Eurovision, impressing audiences across Europe, and delivering a high‑octane performance on Day 0 of EXIT Festival last year, he has since graced some of the world’s biggest stages and festival lineups. The next exciting stop on his musical journey is Strumica City Park!
Behind the name that has captured the attention of fans worldwide is Marko Purišić, an authentic, charismatic artist from Umag. From the start, his path has been marked by a desire to create on his own terms, through self‑reflection and a personal take on the world. No, it wasn’t overnight fame. It rests on years of work and exploration, from early bands and tours to writing songs for other artists. Only when he decided to put his own voice front and center did he find a sound that connected with millions around the world and made real what once felt like an impossible childhood dream.
He has been making music since the age of nine, when he picked up the guitar and joined his first band. As a teenager, he was part of the folk‑metal outfit Mantra, performing across Europe, though composing intrigued him more than life on stage and the road. He later collaborated with the German gothic rock band Mono Inc., contributing to an album that became a bestseller in Germany and opened the door to professional songwriting. From that experience grew his own project, Baby Lasagna, through which he now releases tracks like “Biggie Boom Boom,“ “and I,“ and “IG Boy.”
“Rim Tim Tagi Dim” isn’t just a crowd‑favorite among devoted Eurovision fans. Thanks to a fusion of muscular, Rammstein‑like energy and traditional Balkan aesthetics, it became one of the most beloved global hits. With over 70 million views, it continues to rank among today’s most‑played songs. The track broke out of Eurovision templates and became a byword for innovation, one of those records that smashed the mainstream with its energy. It will be remembered not only as a hit of the year but as a step forward that inspired future artists to fuse the seemingly unfusible with more confidence.
After his runner‑up finish at Europe’s most‑watched music competition, Baby Lasagna set out to conquer stages across the continent. He was also one of the headliners at the Sea Star Festival in his hometown of Umag, where the audience welcomed him like a local hero.
Then came Day 0 of the 24th edition of EXIT Festival, where his Tesla Universe stage set detonated with energy and drew thunderous ovations. On that occasion, he premiered several songs from what was then his unreleased, but now widely streamed, debut album “DMNS & MOSQUITOES.” “I have never performed on a stage this big, never in front of a larger or better audience,” he said during his first performance in Serbia, which culminated in a group selfie, a moment Marko will remember forever.
That set proved to be the perfect prelude to his first major tour, the “Meow Back Tour,” which took him to more than twenty European cities. He then launched a major summer tour, performing across the region as well as in the Netherlands, England, Scotland, Poland, Finland, and other countries.
His return to Eurovision, this time in Basel, brought a special surprise. He joined forces with Käärijä for a unique mash‑up performance, “Cha Cha Cha / Rim Tim Tagi Dim.” The two most‑loved Eurovision acts of the new generation blended their explosive, playful energies into the #eurodab duet. It was a fantastic match, the performance went viral immediately, and fans of the contest flooded social media with comments about their “dream duet.”
He arrives at the big Get EXITed party in Strumica on Saturday, September 7, when the city will for the fourth time become the region’s epicenter. He will be joined in City Park by the globally popular DJ Jax Jones and the legendary Bajaga i Instruktori. The audience can expect an unforgettable night packed with genre‑spanning hits and high‑voltage energy, plus plenty of surprises. The complete program will be announced soon.
