The intention is to ensure that his appearance does not interfere with the perception of his music. That way, fans of house and tech genres primarily identify him by his distinctive sound, tinged with a dose of melancholy within lively funk. This unmistakable sound will be heard on Saturday, July 8, at EXIT festival’s Gorki List Main Stage!

“It’s about playing with identities, and that is a big factor in music and pop – that you can reinvent yourself from album to album, bring different facets to your universe and your story. From album to album, you can change… be a different character” Claptone explained to DJ Times Magazine.

His top-notch performances and mystery-shrouded identity have earned him global fame and dizzying success. He has been one of the headliners of all major international festivals for years. His conceptual “The Masquerade” parties, each a unique masquerade with different themes and top-tier production, have conquered cities across the globe – from Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York, and Miami, through London and Berlin, to Amsterdam and Ibiza. At these events, he has hosted numerous luminaries of the electronic music scene, including Duke Dumont, Faithless, Fatboy Slim, Pete Tong, Black Coffee, Felix Da Housecat, and many others.

His debut album Charmer” from 2015 already captivated electronic music lovers worldwide, followed by “The Masquerade” (2016), “Fantast” (2018), and “Closer” (2021). His success was crowned in 2021 with a lofty third place on the prestigious DJ Mag’s Alternative Top 100 DJs list, while last year, he was listed among The 10 Best-Selling Artists on Beatport! 

Throughout his decade-long career, Claptone has produced a plethora of stylized remixes of songs by influential artists such as Elton John, Dua Lipa, Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys, New Order, Florence & The Machine, Gorillaz, Gregory Porter, Disclosure, Faithless, Bastille, Hurts, Metronomy, and many others.

His remix of Gorillaz’sWe Got The Power” became a global mega-hit, and the track “The Drums” garnered support from BBC Radio and took dancefloors worldwide by storm. This was followed by a performance at the legendary BBC Radio 1 Ibiza Weekender party and recognition as the best house artist at the Ibiza DJ Awards, which he won three years in a row.

For nearly a decade now, Claptone has been thrilling fans worldwide with his weekly podcast Clapcast,” broadcasted on over 70 radio stations and consisting of almost 400 episodes to date. In this way, he presents his rich and seemingly inexhaustible music selection to the audience.
