Together, and with united creativity, they will present the audience with a large-scale, unique artistic performance titled “Emergency EXIT.”
“Since ancient times, people have used art and culture to bring order and meaning to the world. Through beauty and aesthetics, art has connected us with the divine, the universe, and the hidden dimensions of nature. In the ‘Emergency EXIT’ project, we use art in its most noble form – to raise awareness and communicate clear principles through creative expression,” says Artur Mendes, one of the directors of Boom Festival.
“Emergency EXIT“ engages the senses, stirs emotions, and inspires action. It is a powerful performance that blends contemporary performing arts, music, visual art, and direct interaction with the audience. Renowned global artists will come together to deliver a powerful message in front of tens of thousands of attendees: “Peace on Earth, peace with Earth.”
“The performance addresses everyone – visitors, performers, festival staff, sponsors, volunteers, inviting them to join in signing the Manifesto for the Planet’s Salvation, a call to action that will evolve over the course of the ‘Emergency EXIT’ project, which it is part of, and which is supported by the European Union through the Creative Europe program,” says Ida Siljanović, project manager of “Emergency EXIT” and program manager at the EXIT Foundation.
In a time of noticeable climate change and its consequences, with the future and preservation of our planet at the forefront, art is taking a leading role in awakening ecological awareness and calling for a change in humanity’s behavior toward nature. The festival sector, as a platform for gathering and action, is no exception.
“The entertainment industry and festivals truly have a global impact, bringing together people from all over the world to celebrate through music and dance. Festivals are spaces of joy and connection, which makes them a natural platform for sharing meaningful messages. So why not combine fun with education and higher purpose?”, concludes Guillem Ruiz, international promoter and creative consultant.
„Emergency EXIT“ is more than an artistic event – it’s a movement that connects artists, festivals, communities, and audiences around the world through a call to protect the environment. With powerful visual and musical messages, the audience will be encouraged to reflect on the consequences of global warming, biodiversity loss, and the responsibility we all share.
“‘Emergency EXIT’ operates within four different festival industries. Behind the scenes, each performance explores and showcases the impact of local sourcing and the use of future-proof materials. In doing so, it raises the bar for what a sustainable and long-term relevant production can achieve,” says Luise Haertel, project manager at Green Events.
“Art, especially live performance, can offer catharsis and insight without the audience having to live through an experience personally. It’s a powerful tool for driving social progress and change. In today’s world, with challenges like climate change and social inequality, it’s easy to feel powerless. But rather than giving in to that feeling, we should focus on small, positive steps. It’s not about doing everything at once, but about shifting the conversation toward hope and gradual progress,” say Pera Tantiñá and Àgata Tantinyà, director and artistic director at La Fura dels Baus.
This event will be the first performance of its kind in Europe – entertaining, educational, moving, and inspiring. Following its world premiere at EXIT, it will continue touring across Europe. The second performance will take place at Boom Festival in July 2025 in Portugal, followed by Sea Star Festival in May 2026 in Umag, and then in July 2026 in Barcelona, carrying its message of sustainability and hope forward on the journey to protect our planet.
