Solomun: One Dancefloor, Countless Emotions – “Music Remembers Us Better Than We Do”

Some artists flash and fade. Others take the long road. Solomun is one of those artists who, from the first beat, draw the crowd into their world and keep them there not with spectacle, but with substance.

For him, the Petrovaradin Fortress is a second home, and he returns to it on Saturday, July 12, taking over EXIT Festival’s biggest electronic stage with the DIYNAMIC STAGE TAKE-OVER, alongside a new generation shaping the sound of the world’s top dancefloors.

Born in Bosnia, raised in Hamburg, rooted in two cultures, Solomun built his path without shortcuts. From construction sites to film sets and finally to DJ booths at the world’s most prestigious festivals, his journey has always been one of intention and dedication.

He was DJing by the age of 16, and by 23, producing full-time. In 2006, he founded Diynamic, an independent label that grew into a creative empire, with over 200 artists, performances at top festivals, and Ibiza residencies that changed the game.

As both DJ and producer, Solomun quickly caught the attention of a wider audience with stunning remixes for legends like Depeche Mode, Lana Del Rey, and Jamiroquai. In 2012, he was named DJ of the Year by Mixmag, Producer of the Year at the DJ Awards in Ibiza, and Best International DJ by Brazil’s Cool Awards. Six years later, he was once again honored in Ibiza as Best DJ in the Melodic House & Techno category, proving both his longevity and influence.

His first album, “Dance Baby” (2009), achieved cult status, while his legendary remix of Noir & Haze’s “Around” was named Remix of the Year by Resident Advisor in 2011. His second album, “Nobody Is Not Loved,” featuring collaborations with Jamie Foxx and Planningtorock, further demonstrated his artistic range and genre-blending curiosity.

In 2013, he launched the Solomun+1 residency at Ibiza’s Pacha club – a concept that changed the rules of club nights by placing the DJ booth in the center of the dancefloor, closer to the crowd, transforming the performer-audience dynamic forever. These weekly rituals on the White Isle have become one of Ibiza’s standout events, helping to shape its electronic music scene. Solomun’s captivating performances, each with a special guest, unite the crowd under one powerful message – Nobody Is Not Loved.

Today, his sound moves dancefloors around the world, and Solomun enjoys a reputation as one of the most trusted tastemakers in electronic music. His selections blend exclusive new releases with unexpected classics. When Solomun is behind the decks, time dissolves: deep, melodic grooves pull the crowd into a shared rhythm, and his cinematic sense of pacing creates waves of anticipation and release. There are no pyrotechnics – just a genuine, profound connection.

For 15 years now, EXIT and Solomun have been writing their shared story, opening new and inspiring chapters on the Dance Arena stage. It began with his debut in 2010, followed by a triumphant return in 2016. A year later came an unforgettable back-to-back set with Dixon. In 2018, he closed the stage as the sun rose over a magical morning. The Solomun +1 performance in 2019, with Tale of Us, is still talked about as one of the most layered b2b experiences in EXIT’s history. His 2021 set was an emotional reset after the pandemic — a moment of silence, understanding, and connection few artists have shared with a crowd in their entire careers.

Celebrating 15 years of memories with fans in the heart of Petrovaradin Fortress and in the year EXIT itself celebrates its 25th anniversary, Solomun will commandeer the Dance Arena on Saturday, July 12, at the DIYNAMIC STAGE TAKE-OVER. Joined by Mau P, DJ Gigola, Tijana T, Ogazon, Lanna, and Hobin Rude, he will unite generations through a unique electronic experience and emotions that last a lifetime.
