Winners of the Play at EXIT Contest Announced, Set to Shine on the Legendary Visa Fusion Stage!

The traditional Play at EXIT contest gives original musicians a chance to shine on one of the oldest and most influential festival stages, Visa Fusion. This year, the opportunity to perform at EXIT festival from July 6 to 9 will be given to the brilliant young bands TBK, SickSoul, Jolly Little Bunch, and Short Reports, as well as the multi-instrumentalist PetarZ!

EXIT audience gathered around the Visa Fusion stage on the first day of the festival, Thursday, July 6, will be treated to a performance by the four-member band TBK from Belgrade, who, through a series of video singles, such as “Idemo do klaba,“ “Soba u Bigzu,“ “Milijardu godina,“ “Tanka linija, and others, announce their upcoming debut album. On Friday, July 7, the rapcore band SickSoul from Šabac will perform at the same place. The band has released two studio albums – Bez kompromisa and “ANXIOZZY.Also performing on Friday is multi-instrumentalist PetarZ, who brings a fusion of funk, soul, blues, reggae, Latin sounds, afro rhythms, and disco music. He has two studio albums under his belt, Riddlephoreand Tête-à-tête, and has so far collaborated with numerous prominent musicians, including Vasil Hadžimanov, Jelena Petošević, Marko Louis, Rhani Krija (Sting’s percussionist), Božo Vrećo, and many others. His first appearance at EXIT festival was in 2019 when he performed at the opening ceremony with Marko Louis. 

Saturday, July 8, is reserved for the Novi Sad band Jolly Little Bunch. The album “Clubmaster“ by this promising foursome was listed among the top 25 regional albums of 2018 by the Balkanrock portal, which described their sound as “a blend of The Cult on guitars and Pink Floyd on keyboards, with a large dose of freshness gained from listening to contemporary pop and rock music.” Through the mentioned album, they presented video singles Rosie, Come with Me, Vagabond, and the eponymous Clubmaster,“ while the song Nothing Left announces their upcoming LP release. 

On the last day of EXIT festival, Sunday, July 9, the audience will be introduced to the loud and energetic alternative duo Short Reports from Novi Sad. They played their first album, “Cats VS Dogs,” which features prominent video singles such as “Standoff,“ “Connection,“ “Lie,“ “Goodbye,and others, in over 50 cities across Europe and the Balkans. Last year they represented Novi Sad as the European Capital of Culture in Luxembourg, and the same year they participated in the PIN conference in Skopje.

In addition to the winners of the Play at EXIT contest, the Belgrade band Šajzerbiterlemon will join the Gorki List Main Stage program and perform on Thursday, July 7. The bands Ground Zero and War Engine will also perform in a unique B2B – band-to-band show on Friday, July 8!

The goal of the traditional Play at EXIT contest, organized by EXIT festival in collaboration with Visa, is to support the work and development of new artists who get the opportunity to play on the iconic Visa Fusion stage. This year’s winners, the bands TBK, Petar Z, SickSoul, Jolly Little Bunch, and Short Reports, will have the opportunity to share the stage with some of the leading global and regional music stars, including American ska legends The Toasters, British post-punk sensation Dry Cleaning, Dutch Rudeboy and DJ DNA, Nikola Vranjković, Bojana Vunturišević, Porto Morto, Atheist Rap, Pero Defformero, and many others.
